E - Bike

  • The goal was to design an electric bike that was more affordable than existing market options while offering improved performance and a distinct custom identity.

  • The bike features a steel frame, leather seat, wide wheels, a 42V battery, electric motor, speed controller, throttle, and integrated LED lighting.

  • The design draws from the colors and relaxed character of the beach, combining soft tones with a simple, approachable form.

This electric bike was designed to balance performance, cost, and character in a compact, functional package. The steel frame provides durability while keeping the structure straightforward and easy to manufacture, helping reduce overall cost. Wide tires and an efficient motor system improve stability and ride performance, while the leather seat and warm color palette introduce comfort and personality. Inspired by coastal environments, the bike aims to feel relaxed and inviting while remaining practical for everyday use, offering a custom alternative to conventional electric bikes on the market.

Building this electric bike pushed me early on, especially since it was one of my first welding projects. Figuring out how to make the frame strong enough meant reworking joints, fixing mistakes, and learning quickly from what didn’t hold up. Wiring the electronics was just as challenging, with a lot of trial and error to make sure everything stayed protected and worked reliably in the rain. The project taught me to trust iteration and solve problems by building, testing, and rebuilding.
