Crew Rickerd

Design and business have been a consistent focus throughout my life. Like many designers, my interest began with LEGO, where early experiences building and rebuilding sparked a lasting curiosity for how things work and fit together. That foundation grew into hands-on work with wood and metal, and later into CAD, rapid prototyping, and fabrication, allowing me to quickly translate ideas from concept into physical form and work confidently through to production. I studied Building Science at Algonquin College before transitioning into the Industrial Design program at Carleton University. Alongside my design practice, I built and continue to operate a successful restaurant business, which has provided direct experience in entrepreneurship, branding, and operations. This combined background shapes how I approach design today, with a focus on fast iteration, practical decision-making, and well-considered solutions that serve both users and business goals.

When I’m not working on projects or the restauraunt, you’ll usually find me with friends, traveling, trying out new tech, playing guitar, or spending time outdoors.
